Jody was born in the island of Jamaica and migrated to the United States in 1980. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and worked in corporate America for a number of years. She always felt something was missing and always had the desire to help people. She then went back to school and attended New York Institute of Technology in Long Island, NY where she earned her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 2003.
After graduation, she worked for Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY and then moved to Arizona on a long-term physical therapy contract. When that contract ended, she worked as a travel PT and completed assignments in California, New York, Arizona and Florida. She subsequently moved permanently to Florida to be close to family. She worked for Jupiter Medical Center for 8 years while overlapping employment with Cleveland Clinic Martin Health where she worked for 12 years, while also doing home care. She enjoys working with the geriatric population and is certified in dry needling, trained in the Graston Technique, certified in Kineso taping. She has also taken many post graduate courses to stay current and give best practice.
Missing from the hospital setting is the extended one on one time with patients which is what she values most. That one-on-one time allows one to get to know patients well and formulate a treatment plan that is just the right fit for that patient. She feels, each patient is unique and should not be treated like an assembly line object. Her patients have always expressed appreciation for her devoted care and recognize that she has their best interest at heart. She is committed to finding just the right treatment protocol in order to achieve your health care goals. This is the very reason she started Martin in Motion Therapy Services.
